A pair of different generation GEs leads a southbound blade empty through the Air Force Academy, CO.
I’m sharing this shot not because it’s a GEVO and blade empties but because of what you don’t see in this shot. For those familiar with this location, they’ll recognize the code line that was here east of the tracks that then crossed over to the west side just north of the North Gate Bridge is gone! A portion of the remnants of the poles are in a pile to the left of the lead locomotive. I’ve spent many years shooting around, through, and over that code line, but that challenge is now gone. Had they still been in place, there would have been a pole shadow draped right across the second unit (see the stump in the ballast to the right?).
History has been removed, but a shooting location has opened up, a rarity for the Joint Line these days…
